Mishmi Hills is located in the north-eastern state of Arunachal Pradesh in India. The hills are a southward extension of the Great Himalayan Mountain Range. This is said to be the richest bio-geographical province of the Himalayan zone. It is considered to be one of the mega biodiversity hotspots of the world. The diversity of topography and climate has resulted in the growth of forests home to varied plants and animals.
The Idu Mishims, the inhabitants of this landscape are one of the 26 indigenous communities in Arunachal Pradesh.
What makes Dibang Valley truly unique is the cultural connection between the Idu Mishmi people and the biodiversity.
IT Nature Club will be travelling to Mishmi Hills, during the month of May from 17th to May 22nd 2021, to explore the beautiful part of Arunachal.
