Spiti Valley

There a amazing places to visit in the Spiti valley. Spiti is a high altitude cold desert area, roughly translated as “the middle land” that is the land between Tibet and India. Some of the poplular places in the region are Kaza, Langza, Hikkim

Kaza

The journay from Shimla to Kaza is in itself an experience. The town is situated along the Spiti river. Because of its central location and connections with the rest of the valley, it is popular among tourists and adventure seekers. About 8 km away from Kaza is small hamlet of Langza. 

Langza

Langza is a small hamlet 8 km away from Kaza, with a iconic Buddhist statue. It is famous for presence of large number of marine fossils around the area. The night sky is incredible as it beams with millions of stars at night.

Hikkim

This village is particularly famous for its highest post office in the world at an elevation of 4440 m, about 46 km away from Kaza.

Key Monastery

The Key Monastery is the largest monastery of the Spiti valley. Anyone who have visited would say that the place is iconic, serene, beautifully calm and relaxing. A common practice among tourists is to take a 15-20 mins hiking trail, to get an amazing view of the monastery with the whole valley.

Chandratal Lake

The beautiful lake is located in Lahaul region of the Lahaul and Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh. The name “Chandra Taal” (Lake of the moon) comes from its crescent shape. Peached at an altitude of 4200 meters and gorgeous mountains as its backdrop, the lake is a perfect place for those worthy Instagram pictures.
