Why Brazil?

Brazil’s biodiversity and its rich eco systems boast of largest collection of plant and animal species not found anywhere else on earth. The Amazon landscape include toucans, scarlet macaws, howler monkeys, capybaras,pink dolphins, sea turtles and of course the Jaguars and many many more species.

Itinerary Details:

Day 1: 19 July 2023
  • Departing from Bombay to Sao Paulo by Turkish/Qatar airlines at 20:45 or late afternoon, we will check into an airport hotel for the night. (Dinner)
Day 2: 20 July 2023
  • After breakfast we take a morning flight and fly to Manaus. Drive to reach by midday and transfer from Manaus airport We will then check in to the boat for the trip on Rio Negro. The local guide will explain about the tour schedule.
  • Post that we will visit January Lake to see water lilies (Victoria amazônica) and the handicraft center managed by the local community (B/L/D) 
Day 3 & 4: 21 – 22 July 2023

We will spend the whole day cruising and also taking the canoe into the creeks looking for birds and other wildlife (B/L/D) 

Day 5: 23 July 2023

After our breakfast at 07:30 am we start our journey back to Manaus, Lunch on board. We will meet up with the Pink Dolphins along the sail and then we arrive at Manaus in the evening and stay in a city hotel (B/L/D)

Day 6: 24 July 2023
  • Today after breakfast, we will visit a watchtower for canopy watching. 
  • Later we will travel to the meeting point  of the waters between Rio Negro and Solimões. 
  • Post late lunch we will take the flight out from Manaus to Cuiaba. Night Stay at a Cuiaba Hotel (B/L/D)
Day 7: 25 July 2023

After early breakfast we will drive to Pousada Piuvial or Pouso Allegre . We will spend all day birding here and stay the night in Pousada Piuvial or Pouso Allegre (B/L/D)

The Pantanal covers an area half the size of France, three-fifths of which is in Brazil. The wetlands expands and contracts in area with the seasonal rains. Because of the seasonal flooding, most of the Pantanal is unsuitable for agriculture. As a result, the region is largely unspoiled and teems with wildlife and birds. Perhaps the most sought-after bird in the Pantanal is the endangered Hyacinth Macaw, a beautiful blue macaw that is still reliably seen on birding tours. 

Day 8: 26 July 2023

We shall spend the morning , birding here and then drive to the Jaguar Lodge. We will be birding along the road until we reach the camp (B/L/D) 

Day 9 & 10: 27 – 28 July 2023

We will spend two full days looking for jaguars in the Pantanal by boat. Night Stay in Jaguar Lodge. (B/L/D)

Day 11: 29 July 2023

We will spend the day looking for Jaguars and other animals like giant otters. And later in the day, after dinner we will drive to Cuiaba to catch an early morning flight to Iguaçú falls (B/L/D). 

Day 12: 30 July 2023

We will take the early morning (hopping) flight and reach Iguazu by 11am. We will check into the Hotel Das Cataratas and do birding and visit the fabulous Iguaçú waterfall. Guests staying here in this hotel have 24 hrs access to the falls which are inside national park unlike the guest staying outside the park. ( B/L/D)

Day 13: 31 July 2023

We will spend most part of the day here and then catch an evening flight out to Sao Paulo. Stay in Sao Paulo Hotel for the night. B/D.

Day 14: 1 August 2023

We have a free day at Sao Paulo, later we take an evening flight out for India ( B )
Tour Ends ( Arrive in India on 3rd August ) 

The above cost includes :

All stay, all meals as mentioned in the itinerary, all guiding, all Entrance fees, all internal flights, all local Transport and Taxis.

The cost doesn’t include :

International Flights, Flights within India, Alcohol, Water, Soft Drinks, Laundry, Gratuity, Expenses of Personal Nature, Visa, Insurance. Cost of changes made due to act of nature, change of schedule, or covid.

Single occupancy is possible everywhere, except on the boat in Amazon. It has limited cabins, with bunk beds.

FOOD

Brazil is a carnivorous country and it’s a meat eaters’ delight, but vegetarian options are available everywhere. Breakfast usually has a continental option. We should not expect to get any kind of Indian food while in that country. It’s primarily a rice eating country. Rajma Chawal is available almost every day everywhere.

VISA

Getting a Brazilian visa is a tedious job, and takes a fairly long time. So, a visa should be applied via agent well in advance (preferably 8 weeks).
