Assam

Assam is the doorway to the rest of the North-Eastern states. Visiting Assam is a mix of culture, history and scenic beauty.

The Ahoms had ruled Assam in the late medieval times and has left behind archaeological sites to be explored. The region is dotted with numerous tea gardens which is a remnant of the Britishers who introduced tea in the region. The Brahmaputra river runs through the state forming two river islands: Majuli (world’s largest) and Umananda (world’s smallest).
