Sand Banks:
Alluring as Coorg may be, there are those special areas that are quite peerless in their appeal. Sandbanks is one such. Juxtaposed in the crook formed by a curling bend in the Cauvery river and a range of hills in the west, Sandbanks is simply that - a green swarded stretch of gently undulating terrain nestled on the alluvial sandy deposits of a lazy river.

The ambience puts you perfectly at ease and the lodging designed to blend in with rather than ornament the scenery. Graceful and charming, each feature of the landscape and hospitality structure is crafted to soothe and comfort.The homestay consists of 2 twin cottages (for 4 families)situated on a long stretch of land, within a coffee estate in and surrounded by a small river on three sides approx 150 mts from Sand Banks,which is secluded & has total privacy.The cottages have two sections,with each section(for one couple), consisting of a verandah,a bedroom & a toilet.It also has a small kitchenette & a store.While the store is only for the hosts' use,the kitchenette can be let out(on a extra charge)provided the same party occupies both rooms. Bamboo huts which can be used as dining rooms or as a sit out,is both cool & blends with the environment.Timber cottage has a enclosed verandah .Coffee cottage has a fireplace and open verandah.

can take a trek through the coffee estate and get to know how your cup of
coffee is cupped , play outdoor shuttle,Table Tennis ,basket ball ,or the
available indoor games. Those interested in bird or butterfly watching, or
just enjoying nature ,could feast their eyes.Local rods are available for
fishing.There is also a coracle, which you could hire. There is a
small library.There is also natural waterfall,which is beautiful in the rainy
season.The river however stops flowing around February & may go dry between
March & May if irrigation commences.Then the boating is shifted to the
artificial tank , which is about 100ft * 100ft.

Kids below 12 years free
sharing the parents bed, will have to pay for breakfast & other meals
Extra Mattress - Rs 150 /-with breakfast.
Extra person : Rs.500/- (Peak time:Rs 750 /-)for mattress & breakfast.
Dinner or Lunch : Veg-Rs 150 /person / meal / Non Veg - Rs 175 /person/meal.
Kitchen Rs 300 /- per day ( provided both rooms are taken by the same party).
Gas with stove & basic utensils are provided.
Other Charges :
Boating Rs 100 /- per half hour.
Jeep ride into estate Rs 100/-
Bonfire Rs 350 /-
# Drivers or maids will be charged Rs 150 for bed & food .
However they are not supposed to use the main rooms,toilets or dining area.
If found using the same they will be charged the guests rates
Check in/ check out 12 noon.
